About DriveWise

DriveWise is an independent website with free calculators for drivers and car owners. It was started by the Crushjs Team after a set of "upgraded" wheels left a speedometer reading 3 mph slow, and a dealer quoted a monthly payment without mentioning it ran for seven years.

What we believe

  • The real cost matters more than the monthly figure. Every calculator shows totals, not just the friendliest number.
  • Show the math. Every calculator explains its formula and lists each step, so you can check it yourself.
  • Your numbers are yours. All calculations happen in your browser; nothing you type is sent to us.

How we keep results accurate

Our calculators use standard formulas: tire geometry from the size printed on the sidewall, the standard amortization formula lenders use for car loans, and published conversion factors for fuel and electricity, such as the U.S. EPA's figure for CO₂ per gallon of gasoline. Where we use a typical value, such as charging losses, we say so on the page and let you change it. We test results against worked examples and update the guides when prices or common practice change.

Important note

DriveWise provides estimates and general information only. We are not mechanics, financial advisers or lenders. For decisions about your vehicle's safety, a specific loan, or tax rules where you live, talk to a qualified professional.
